Call for Entries 2005 - DOCUMENTAL
DOCUMENTARY:
The Bogotá Film Festival, since the last 3 years, has decided to open a competitive section to award the achievements of the Colombian Documentary, given the great interest to express our national reality. Thanks to the success of the show, this is the second year it extends to the whole world with an international competition in which any country that has a fresh and independent documentary can participate.
COMPETITION RULES
Article I
The Festival will award documentaries whose theme is related in any aspect to video or film arts, made by Colombian or foreign authors. Only 1 work per author can participate.
Article II
The Festival will award the best Colombian Documentary with the Precolombian Circle of Gold and the best International documentary with the Precolombian Circle of Gold.
Article III
The Festival shall designate a special jury only dedicated to judge the quality of the participating documentaries.
Article IV
For the selection, the works must be delivered in a VHS Cassette, NTSC system or in DVD, until July 1st of 2005. The shipping cost of the works is paid by its producer.
Article V
The documentaries have maximum length.
Article VI
The realization date must be after September of 2004.
Article VII
Only documentaries in Spanish or subtitled in Spanish are admitted. WE DON´T RECIEVE ORIGINAL COPIES.
Article VIII
Institutional documentaries, of commercial promotion or documentaries that have participated before will be unable to participate.
Article IX
The promotion material of the selected documentaries (color or black and white photos, slides, clips, pressbook) must be sent together with a copy, the synopsis and the technical date before August 15 of 2005.
Article X
The selection process starts on August 1 of 2005. The authors of the selected videos will be notified with anteriority, so they can send a copy in BETACAM for its exhibition.
Article XI
The participation in the Festival implicates agreement to the present rules.
The IV award to the documentary will be held within the XXII Bogotá Film Festival between the 5th and the 13th of October of 2005. The awarding will be held together with the Film’s awards in the ending ceremony on the 13th of October.
